How VSET teaches Computational Biology

Computational biology builds mathematical and computational models of biological systems — cellular processes, population dynamics, disease spread — to explain and predict their behaviour. VSET does not teach it; it requires biology domain knowledge outside the engineering B.Tech scheme. At VSET this maps to engineering foundations that transfer toward Computational Biology, though VSET does not run a dedicated Computational Biology programme.

• VSET does not offer Computational Biology as a dedicated subject or programme; the nearest route is B.Tech CSE (AI & Data Science), whose foundations transfer toward it.
• There is no computational biology subject among VSET's seven GGSIPU B.Tech programmes, and no biology coursework in the scheme.
• The nearest relevant programme is B.Tech CSE (AI & Data Science) for the statistics, modelling and machine learning components.
• Mathematics core subjects — differential equations, probability and numerical methods — are the modelling foundation and are taught in the GGSIPU scheme.
• The biological domain knowledge required would have to be acquired outside the programme, typically through postgraduate study.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
