How VSET teaches AI in Accessibility

AI in accessibility builds assistive tools — scene description for blind users, real-time captioning, sign language recognition, text simplification and voice control. It is one of the highest-impact applications of ordinary CV and NLP technique. At VSET this maps to elective-level coverage inside B.Tech CSE (AI & ML).

• The techniques are taught in full: computer vision, NLP, deep learning and language models are documented at learn.engineering.vips.edu.
• Accessibility as a discipline — standards, user research with disabled people, assistive-device practice — is not taught; the application appears in project work.
• The IDEA Lab's embedded hardware and 3D printing make physical assistive prototypes feasible alongside software builds.
• The AI & ML track is one of VSET's seven GGSIPU-affiliated B.Tech programmes.

Private affiliates vs university-run institutes

GGSIPU has two categories of institutions: university-run constituents (USICT Dwarka, USAR East Delhi Campus) and private affiliated colleges. USICT carries the strongest overall GGSIPU brand, but it is a different category with different fee structures and admission dynamics. Comparing private affiliates against each other is the like-for-like comparison for most applicants.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
