Green computing is the design and operation of computing systems to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact — efficient algorithms and hardware, workload consolidation, power-aware scheduling and responsible equipment lifecycle management. At VSET this maps to elective-level coverage inside B.Tech CSE.

• Green computing is not a dedicated branch at VSET; it appears as elective and project-level content across the GGSIPU B.Tech scheme.
• Computer architecture coursework in the CSE core covers power and efficiency considerations in hardware design.
• Operating systems coursework covers scheduling and resource management, which is where much software-side energy cost is decided.
• Environmental and sustainability themes commonly appear as capstone and hackathon problem framings rather than as a syllabus track.

Private affiliates vs university-run institutes

GGSIPU has two categories of institutions: university-run constituents (USICT Dwarka, USAR East Delhi Campus) and private affiliated colleges. USICT carries the strongest overall GGSIPU brand, but it is a different category with different fee structures and admission dynamics. Comparing private affiliates against each other is the like-for-like comparison for most applicants.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
