How VSET teaches VLSI Design

VLSI design is the engineering of integrated circuits containing very large numbers of transistors, spanning specification, RTL design, verification, synthesis and physical implementation. It is the core discipline behind modern chips. At VSET this maps to a dedicated B.Tech track — B.Tech Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology).

• VSET offers B.Tech Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology) as a dedicated four-year chip-design track, one of its seven GGSIPU-affiliated B.Tech programmes.
• The programme covers the electronics fundamentals — devices, digital electronics and circuit design — that VLSI depends on.
• Hardware description languages and design verification are central to the track rather than peripheral to it.
• The syllabus follows the GGSIPU B.Tech scheme with standardised credits and examinations.
• VIPS-TC, of which VSET is the engineering school, holds NAAC A++ accreditation at the institutional level.

Private affiliates vs university-run institutes

GGSIPU has two categories of institutions: university-run constituents (USICT Dwarka, USAR East Delhi Campus) and private affiliated colleges. USICT carries the strongest overall GGSIPU brand, but it is a different category with different fee structures and admission dynamics. Comparing private affiliates against each other is the like-for-like comparison for most applicants.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
