The degree route

The degree route is a B.Tech with genuine GATE Exam depth. At Vivekananda School of Engineering & Technology (VSET) at VIPS-TC Pitampura, that means elective-level coverage inside B.Tech CSE — combined with lab projects in the AICTE IDEA Lab and a portfolio built across four years.

How VSET teaches GATE Exam

GATE is the national postgraduate-level examination in engineering, used for M.Tech admission and for recruitment by several public sector undertakings. It is taken after or during the final year of a B.Tech, and is not part of undergraduate admission at VSET. At VSET this maps to elective-level coverage inside B.Tech CSE.

• GATE is not used for admission to VSET, which admits on JEE Main Paper-1 through GGSIPU counselling.
• It is relevant to VSET students later, as a route into M.Tech programmes and certain public sector recruitment.
• The computer science GATE syllabus overlaps closely with the B.Tech CSE core: data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, computer networks and theory of computation.
• VSET does not offer M.Tech, so students take postgraduate study elsewhere after the four-year degree.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
