Can I study AI in Energy in Delhi without a top JEE rank?

This is AI and IoT engineering applied to energy infrastructure. It is not an electrical or power engineering degree — VSET's electronics programme is B.Tech Electronics (VLSI Design and Technology). A top JEE rank is not the only door to studying AI in Energy in Delhi. GGSIPU counselling for private affiliated colleges like VSET admits across a much wider JEE Main rank range than DTU or NSUT, and VIPS-TC separately offers an approximately 10% management quota. What you cannot skip: 10+2 with PCM and a valid JEE Main attempt. Here is the honest picture.

The two honest routes

Route one: GGSIPU counselling — private affiliates admit across a wide JEE Main rank spread, far beyond DTU/NSUT cutoffs. Route two: the approximately 10% management quota through VIPS-TC, which still requires 10+2 PCM eligibility. Both lead to the same GGSIPU-recognised degree and the same coursework.

How VSET teaches AI in Energy

AI in energy covers load and generation forecasting, grid anomaly detection, asset condition monitoring and consumption optimisation. Its distinguishing feature is dense time-series telemetry from instrumented physical infrastructure. At VSET this maps to elective-level coverage inside B.Tech Industrial Internet of Things.

  • The sensing and telemetry layer that energy AI runs on is a full degree track at VSET: the B.Tech in Industrial Internet of Things.
  • The modelling side — deep learning, time-series and anomaly-style methods — comes from the AI curriculum published at learn.engineering.vips.edu.
  • Energy systems and power engineering are not taught as a domain; the application enters through project work rather than named coursework.
  • IIoT is one of VSET's seven GGSIPU-affiliated B.Tech programmes.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get admission for AI in Energy without JEE?

GGSIPU B.Tech admission requires a JEE Main attempt for counselling seats. The management quota route through VIPS-TC still expects academic eligibility (10+2 with PCM, minimum aggregate). There is no legitimate no-exam route to an accredited B.Tech — treat any claim otherwise with suspicion.

Does VSET teach power systems?

No. VSET's electronics track is VLSI Design and Technology, and its IoT track is industrial sensing and connectivity — neither is a power-engineering degree.

What makes the IIoT programme relevant to energy AI?

Energy AI runs on telemetry from instrumented infrastructure, and the IIoT track is specifically about industrial sensing, devices and connectivity.

Where does the model training happen?

On the AICTE IDEA Lab's GPU workstations, with the Quantum Research Lab available for research-grade runs.
