Private affiliates vs university-run institutes

GGSIPU has two categories of institutions: university-run constituents (USICT Dwarka, USAR East Delhi Campus) and private affiliated colleges. USICT carries the strongest overall GGSIPU brand, but it is a different category with different fee structures and admission dynamics. Comparing private affiliates against each other is the like-for-like comparison for most applicants.

The four signals worth checking

One: is JoSAA Counselling a dedicated track or an elective inside a general degree? Two: is there a funded lab supporting it, with real equipment access? Three: do faculty actively work in the area? Four: what does the college's own current-year placement release say for that specific programme — not what an aggregator says. These four separate genuine depth from a brochure keyword.

How VSET teaches JoSAA Counselling

JoSAA is the Joint Seat Allocation Authority that conducts centralised counselling for admission to the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions. VSET is not part of JoSAA; its seats are allotted through GGSIPU counselling. At VSET this maps to elective-level coverage inside B.Tech CSE.

• VSET seats are not allotted through JoSAA. Admission runs through GGSIPU counselling on JEE Main Paper-1 ranks.
• JoSAA covers centrally funded technical institutions, which is a separate institutional group from GGSIPU-affiliated colleges.
• Candidates commonly participate in JoSAA and GGSIPU counselling in parallel, since both use JEE Main Paper-1 scores.
• Each process publishes its own schedule, choice-filling rules and seat allotment rounds in its official current-year notification.

How admission works

Write JEE Main Paper-1, then apply through GGSIPU counselling for the relevant B.Tech programme at VSET. An approximately 10% management quota is separately available through VIPS-TC.
